ACC is an abbreviation/initialism like FBI (all caps, no periods).
Pitt played well against South Florida, but suffered a loss to a mediocre Notre Dame. The "thunder and lightning" will come from within this season. Right now Clemson (5-0) and Georgia Tech look to be contenders for the top spot in the conference. Of course I would like to see my Hokies turn it around and finish out the regular season 11-1.

PS What are your thoughts about the Big East becoming further depleted (basketball only conference?)?
